Jesus often stole away to rest and pray alone. If we obey His mandate to take one day off, we are trusting Him to help us accomplish all our work in the next six days. Our rest signifies our confidence in Him. God deems rest so important that He commanded us to work for six days, but on the seventh day, to rest (Exodus 23:12). However, when we push ourselves to physical exhaustion, our faithfulness turns to foolishness. If we slow down, we will fall behind.Īt times, our fortitude and endurance are a measure of our faithfulness in the battles we face.
